Planet of the Arabs es un cortometraje experimental que trata la representación negativa que hace Hollywood de los árabes y los musulmanes durante décadas. Fue inspirada por el libro “Reel Bad Arabs” de Dr. Jack Shaheen. De 1000 películas con personajes árabes y musulmanes (desde 1896 a 2000), únicamente 12 tenían un caracterización positiva, 52 eran neutras y más de 900 eran negativas.
Premios: Cinematexas Film Festival Planeta fue selección oficial.
Planet of the Arabs is a experimental short on Hollywood’s negative depiction of Arabs and Muslims through the decades. Inspired by Dr. Jack Shaheen’s book “Reel Bad Arabs”. Out of 1000 films that have Arab & Muslim characters (from the year 1896 to 2000), 12 were postive depictions, 52 were even handed 900 and so were negative
