El viaje personal de la directora que deja su pueblo árabe-musulman y se traslada a Tel Aviv. En un intento de encontrar un apartamento en la ciudad, encuentra discriminación y rechazo por la mayoría de los propietarios por su origen árabe. Por fin encuentra un apartamente y conoce a su vecino _Jonathan, un hombre judío canadiense que emigró a Israel. Un historia de amor surge. Ibtisam lucha por su identidad palestina a la sombra de la guerra y el odio, pero no zanja su relación con Jonathan… Se convierte en un viaje individual para cada uno de ellos – que los lleva atrás en el tiempo y hacia adelante en lo desconocido, a recuerdos y sueños, la Nakba y la independencia, amor y odio, anhelo y pérdida. Tras este viaje nada puede ser como antes. No hay vuelta atrás (Ibtisam Mara’anah).

The personal journey of the director who leaves her Arab-Muslim village and moves to Tel-Aviv. In an attempt to find an apartment in the city, she encounters discrimination and refusal by most landlords because of her Arab origins. She finally finds an apartment, and meets her neighbor – Jonathan, a Jewish-Canadian man who immigrated to Israel. A love story evolves. Ibtisam struggles over her Palestinian identity in the shadow of war and hatred, but does not relinquish her relationship with Jonathan… It becomes an individual journey for each one of them – one that takes them backwards in time and forward into the unknown, to memories and dreams, Nakba and independence, love and hate, longing and loss. After this journey nothing can be the way it was before. There is no turning back (Ibtisam Mara’anah).
