En 1948 Munir Shargawi es un joven de Haifa que con la creación del Estado de Israel se ve obligado a dejar su ciudad natal. La familia de Munir se dispersa y él comienza a viajar como exiliado hasta que finalmente se establece en Copenague, donde crea su nueva familia. Uno de sus hijos, Omar, es cineasta. Durante años siente la curiosidad por el pasado de su padre y su infancia perdida en Haifa, e intenta convencer a este para hacer un viaje a Haifa. Más que en cuestiones políticas, Shargawi se centra en la experiencia personal de la búsqueda de la identidad y la curación de una herida difícil de cerrar.
In 1948, Munir Shargawi was a young man from Haifa who, with the creation of the State of Israel, was forced to leave his hometown. Munir’s family gets separated and he starts traveling as an exile until he finally settles in Copenhagen where he starts a new family. One of his sons, Omar, is a filmmaker. For years he has been curious about his father’s past and his lost childhood in Haifa, and he tries to convince his father to take a trip to Haifa. More than political issues, Shargawi focuses on the personal search for identity and the struggle to heal a wound.
