Las 18 buscadas es una producción única que combina animación stop-motion, entrevistas, ilustraciones originales e imágenes de archivo. Conmovedora, provocadora, cómica y seria, muestra el poder de un activismo de base, una resistencia pacífica y la valentía de una parte del mundo que ha sido plagada de un imaginario negativo y de desesperanza.
Comienza de forma sencilla, con la adquisición de 18 vacas por los residentes de la ciudad palestina de Beit Sahour. Las vacas eran un símbolo de libertad y resistencia, permitiéndoles dar leche a sus hijos en lugar de comprarla a una empresa israelí. Pero no eran tiempos corrientes, se alzaba el primer movimiento popular palestino en Cisjordania y pronto las vacas ilegales, tan preciadas por los palestinos, estaban siendo buscadas por el ejército israelí. Con sentido del humor y pasión, Las 18 buscadas captura el espíritu del levantamiento de 1987 a través de las experiencias personales de aquellos que lo vivieron, reanimando uno de los capítulos más extraños de la historia del conflicto israelí-palestino.

The Wanted 18 is a unique production that combines stop-motion animation, interviews, original drawings, and archival footage. Poignant and thought-provoking, humorous and serious, it shows the power of grassroots activism, peaceful resistance and courage in a part of the world that is fraught with negative imagery and despair.
It started simply enough, with the purchase of 18 cows. Bought by residents of the Palestinian town of Beit Sahour, the cows were a symbol of freedom and resistance, allowing them to provide milk for their children rather than buying it from an Israeli company. But these were not ordinary times. The first Palestinian popular movement in the West Bank was rising and soon the illegal cows, cherished by the Palestinians, were being sought by the Israeli army. With humour and passion, The Wanted 18 captures the spirit of the 1987 uprising through the personal experiences of those who lived it, bringing to life one of the strangest chapters in the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
