Ante ti está el mar es un cortometraje que cuenta la historia de una joven judía y un joven árabe enamorados. Es una alegoría al proceso de paz de Oriente Medio, cuando la cumbre de Camp David termina abruptamente marcando el destino de las negociaciones de Oslo. A dos niveles, la película captura la forjada relación palestina-israelí, rica en simbolismo y claves sutiles. Nada queda por añadir, nada queda por quitar.
“Before you is the sea”, is a short film that tells the tale of a young Jewish woman and a young Arab man in love… but also an allegory of the Middle East peace process, when the Camp David summit abruptly broke off, effectively sealing the fate of the Oslo negotiations. Working on two levels, the film captures the wrought Israeli-Palestinian relationship, and a love fought with the burden of political adversity. A Hisham Zreiq film, rich with symbolism, subtle hints… nothing more to add, nothing left to take away.
